How each option works
An implant supports a crown through a fixture placed in the jawbone. A conventional bridge holds a replacement tooth using restorations on neighbouring teeth.
Consider adjacent teeth and bone
An implant can avoid preparing healthy neighbouring teeth, but requires a suitable surgical site. A bridge may be considered when adjacent teeth already need restoration or when surgery is not appropriate.
Compare the full care plan
Ask about the effect on nearby teeth, any need for bone treatment, cleaning, future maintenance and the complete fee estimate. Neither option is best for everyone.
Make a decision after assessment
Examination and appropriate imaging help the dentist explain which approaches are feasible for your mouth. This overview cannot replace an individual diagnosis and treatment discussion.
